For approximately three weeks after being tattooed, your skin will be healing. In order to facilitate good healing, there are a number of things you should not do during this time:
Do not touch your tattoo with unwashed hands.
Do not let any pets touch your tattoo.
Do not expose your tattoo to direct sunlight.
Do not submerge your tattoo in water. This includes swimming pools, saunas, hot tubs, baths etc. Showering is fine.
Do not scratch your tattoo. Healing tattoos can get itchy, we advise you pat rather than scratch.
When applying moisturiser as part of your aftercare routine, apply a small amount. Too much can clog the pours of the skin and add to healing time.
